The spiritual gift of Speaking is the ability to communicate effectively to inspire people toward Christian maturity.

Definition: 

Teaching is a spiritual gift and supernatural ability to discern, communicate, and impart truth. 

Description: 

People who possess the gift of Speaking can communicate in a way that inspires people to want to listen and learn.

The gift of Speaking comes in many different shapes and sizes, and there is no one size fits all. Because of this, people should be careful not to get stuck in the comparison trap or try to conform to a particular style or model of communication.

Example from the Scripture: 

When this gift is present: 

When this gift is active, people will be inspired to make catalyzing spiritual decisions. 

When this gift is absent: 

When the gift is absent, people may not be able to pay attention for long periods of time.

In the Life of Jesus: 

Everywhere that Jesus went, he spoke to the crowds that followed him. Those that heard him were amazed at the way he spoke with authority (Luke 4:31).

Practical ways to implement and develop the spiritual gift of Speaking: 

* Ask your pastor if you can teach a class.

 * Offer to do sermon research for your pastor.

 * Spend time praying that God would strengthen this gifting.

• Influence people toward spiritual growth
• Communicate effectively
